Trust your face in the hands of a facial specialist. With Dr. Kevin Sadati’s minimally invasive neck lift, there is no need for general anesthesia.
Over 3,500 patients have had their lower facelift and neck lift performed by Orange County facelift specialist Dr. Kevin Sadati. Using his Double “C” Plication (muscle tightening) technique, his patients receive a refreshed, youthful appearance without a “pulled” or “artificial” look often associated with surgical neck rejuvenation procedures. Dr. Kevin Sadati’s patients refer to his revolutionary lower face and neck lift as the Natural Face and Neck Lift, because of its remarkably natural-looking, not-operated-on results.
This procedure is performed in our surgical facility under local anesthesia and twilight sedation. There is no need for general anesthesia in order for the patient to undergo a comfortable cosmetic surgery experience. Read Dr. Sadati’s publication on his Double “C” Plication Technique.
Most patients who opt to have a neck lift have a facelift performed at the same time to prevent bunching of the skin around the earlobes.
The American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery published Dr. Sadati’s unique muscle tightening technique in 2011. Since then, he has been invited to premier facial plastic surgery conventions such as the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and AOBOO-HNS in order to educate other plastic surgeons. Double board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Kevin Sadati continues to receive rave reviews from both his peers and his Newport Beach neck lift patients for his renowned Natural Lift.
What goes up must come down. This common phrase you’ve heard throughout your life also applies to the skin of your face and neck. It’s as if gravity itself pulls on the skin as people age, causing it to sag and hang.
In many situations, gathers begin to form at the neck base. At the same time, the slowing of an individual’s metabolism may cause them to gain weight, which adds to the overall look and implies that they’re older and more overweight than they actually are. In some individuals, severe skin laxity is purely genetic and the aging process simply highlights their heredity.
To improve the contouring of the neck and jawline, Dr. Sadati offers the latest innovative neck cosmetic procedures that are performed in the comfort of his Orange County office located in Newport Beach. These procedures are performed using the advanced method of local anesthetics and twilight sedation without the need for general anesthesia.
If sagging skin isn’t the cosmetic issue you’re concerned about, but rather having a buildup of excess fat in the neck, liposuction may be the best way to address your concerns. Nearly any area of the body can benefit from liposuction, including the neck. Liposuction is one of the most effective cosmetic procedures for getting rid of excess fat in the neck region, often appearing as a double chin or pillowy appearance.
Neck liposuction allows people in Orange County to look and feel younger again by slimming the neck for a more youthful profile. The process involves local anesthesia and twilight sedation. First, Dr. Sadati makes a tiny incision through which he inserts a thin tube called a cannula. The cannula is connected to a vacuum device that suctions away fat in the neck. There is minimal discomfort after this procedure, with mild swelling and bruising around the area resolving within one week.
This procedure is not for everyone, as it cannot address excess skin issues. For that, Dr. Sadati’s Natural Neck Lift is a better option.
Not everyone who walks into our Newport Beach office is a candidate for a surgical neck lift. For younger patients with early signs of aging of their lower face and neck, we offer the latest in fractional Co2 laser and radio frequency (RF) technology for neck skin rejuvenation. The procedure is performed with topical anesthetics and oral sedatives to ensure patient comfort. Our laser skin tightening procedure offers a youthful result, and is not as invasive as a full facelift or neck lift surgery.
Dr. Sadati performs Newport Beach neck lifts in his office as an outpatient procedure. A neck lift is performed under twilight sedation, which is a combination of local anesthetic and IV sedation that puts facelift patients in a calm and relaxed state of consciousness without fully putting them asleep.
Dr. Sadati will actually be performing two procedures during a neck lift surgery. The procedure consists of both a cervicoplasty and a platysmaplasty. The cervicoplasty removes excess skin around the neck while the platysmaplasty procedure alters and tightens neck muscles to achieve a youthful, natural appearance. The result is a tight, smooth neck that looks up to thirty years younger.
Once you are comfortable, Dr. Sadati begins numbing the neck with local anesthesia, which will last about 10 hours. Then he starts your neck lift by making a small incision behind your ears and along your hairline. First, the platysma muscle in the midline of the neck that appears as two parallel neck bands is tightened at the SMAS. Then, excess skin is trimmed away. When the procedure is over, small dissolvable sutures are used to close the incisions.
Our patients are able to get natural and long-lasting neck rejuvenation results with about two hours of surgery. Recovering from Dr. Sadati’s Natural Neck Lift is typically quick and easy, allowing patients to get on with their lives with minimal downtime.
All of Dr. Sadati’s surgical team members are genuinely caring and sympathetic to patients’ needs. Our staff speaks softly and gently, which helps calm any nerves patients may be feeling leading up to their procedure and contributes to a positive and reassuring experience.

Neck lift candidates typically have excess or loose skin through the neck, which creates wrinkles or folds and the appearance of a double chin, “turkey neck,” or jowls. Good neck lift candidates must also be generally healthy and nonsmokers. If you have any health conditions which would impair the healing process, you are likely not a good candidate for neck lift surgery.
The best way to know if you’re a good candidate for Dr. Sadati’s unique neck lifting technique is to schedule a consultation with him. During a consultation, Dr. Sadati will examine your areas of concerns and advise you on the best treatment plan for your goals and needs.
A neck lift is a safe procedure when the patient is a suitable candidate for the surgery and it is performed by a qualified facelift surgeon. However, all surgeries have some risks. Some possible risks for neck lift surgery include:
- Adverse reactions to anesthesia
- Hair loss at the incision sites
- Excess or prolonged swelling
- Numbness or changes in sensation
- Unsatisfactory results
With over a decade of experience in facial plastic surgery and having performed over 3,500 neck lifts, Dr. Kevin Sadati can offer solutions to patients in Southern California and Orange County to achieve the look they have always wanted.
Whether through surgical or non-surgical techniques, Dr. Sadati can help resolve any issues you have with your neck and lower face appearance. At the Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery, we offer the most options for completely personalized care, driven by Dr. Sadati’s belief that each patient deserves the care and attention needed to customize a procedure that will best work for them.
After your neck lift is complete, a gauze dressing is applied. The nerve-blocking local anesthesia lasts about 10 hours, which means there is no immediate post-operative pain and no need for heavy narcotics. There is also no nausea and vomiting associated with this procedure since it is not performed under general anesthesia.
Patients may experience feelings of pulling and tightness. These are indications of a successful procedure and signal the path to full recovery. Patients may take Tylenol Extra Strength or a small dose of prescription pain medication if they are uncomfortable.
Patients have long trusted Dr. Kevin Sadati, as he is one of the top board-certified facial plastic surgeons not just in California, but also nationwide. His goal is not to do as many plastic surgeries as quickly as possible, but to perform surgeries that have a positive life impact on his patients.
This means developing a plan that is customized for each patient, and for his Natural Neck Lift, that often means complementing the surgery with a facelift at the same time. Having a facelift done in tandem with neck tightening will ensure the entire face looks younger and the surgery creates proportionate results.

Can a necklift make you look thinner?
Sometimes the key to looking both younger and thinner is all in a person’s neck. Excess skin and sagging skin around the cheek, neck, and jowls can give the appearance that a person is much older than what they really are, and can also give the impression that they are overweight as well.nnBy firming up and tightening the skin in this area, people will be able to redefine their prominent chin and facial bone structure, ultimately feeling younger and more beautiful. In California, the neck lift procedure is becoming one of the best choices when it comes to cosmetic surgery.
What causes the neck to sag?
For many people, a healthy diet and exercise regime is a part of their daily lives. They have rock hard abs, and the best looking legs around. Even people who have reached their middle ages find that they are able to keep up the bodies that they had in their youth simply by staying fit and eating right.nnHowever, sometimes, even the healthiest of routines cannot prevent the aging process from taking its toll on a person’s face. As the years go on, many people find that despite living their best life, the skin around their neck starts to sag and they appear to have a double chin. For people like this in California, the neck lift is the cosmetic procedure that is perfect for them.
Should I get a facelift at the same time as my necklift?
Dr. Sadati often recommends that patients who opt for this procedure also look into having a lower facelift done as well. A lower facelift will ensure that skin will not bunch around the earlobes during neck lift, and also gives a uniform appearance across the entire face. For more information and to find out if this is the right cosmetic surgery for you, book your free consultation with Dr. Kevin Sadati. You won’t regret taking the time to do something for yourself.
How long does it take to recover from a neck lift?
Dr. Sadati’s patients typically return to work and resume normal activity within two weeks. Tightness, bruising, and swelling are all a normal part of recovery, but these will dissipate within a few weeks.
Is a neck lift painful?
Since Dr. Sadati uses local anesthesia with twilight sedation, patients do not experience pain during their neck lift procedure. During recovery, most people report feeling some discomfort but not pain, and this can usually be reduced by taking over-the-counter pain medication, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen.
What are the incisions for a neck lift?
Incision sites vary depending on the type of neck lift that is being performed. In a traditional neck lift, incisions are made along the hairline and around the ears. If Dr. Sadati recommends a limited incision neck lift, the incisions will be shorter and placed around the ear as well. Patients who also receive neck liposuction will have an additional incision below the chin.
Can I have a neck lift without a facelift?
Every patient has unique needs, and Dr. Sadati offers guidance without pressuring patients to undergo unnecessary procedures. If a patient has sagging skin or neck muscles but does not have significant sagging in the jowls, then a neck lift may be all that is necessary to achieve a refreshed, youthful neck.
