What are the Steps of Dr. Sadati’s Neck Lift Procedure? 

Dr. Sadati performs Newport Beach neck lifts in his office as an outpatient procedure. A neck lift is performed under twilight sedation, which is a combination of local anesthetic and IV sedation that puts facelift patients in a calm and relaxed state of consciousness without fully putting them asleep.

Dr. Sadati will actually be performing two procedures during a neck lift surgery. The procedure consists of both a cervicoplasty and a platysmaplasty. The cervicoplasty removes excess skin around the neck while the platysmaplasty procedure alters and tightens neck muscles to achieve a youthful, natural appearance. The result is a tight, smooth neck that looks up to thirty years younger.

Once you are comfortable, Dr. Sadati begins numbing the neck with local anesthesia, which will last about 10 hours. Then he starts your neck lift by making a small incision behind your ears and along your hairline. First, the platysma muscle in the midline of the neck that appears as two parallel neck bands is tightened at the SMAS. Then, excess skin is trimmed away. When the procedure is over, small dissolvable sutures are used to close the incisions.

Who is a Good Candidate for Neck Lift Surgery in Orange County? 

Neck lift candidates typically have excess or loose skin through the neck, which creates wrinkles or folds and the appearance of a double chin, “turkey neck,” or jowls. Good neck lift candidates must also be generally healthy and nonsmokers. After your neck lift is complete, a gauze dressing is applied. The nerve-blocking local anesthesia lasts about 10 hours, which means there is no immediate post-operative pain and no need for heavy narcotics. There is also no nausea and vomiting associated with this procedure since it is not performed under general anesthesia.
