Dr. Sadati’s Lip Lift Method
There are a few different types of lip lift techniques that can be used to create a fuller, more flattering look to the lips. Dr. Sadati’s preferred technique is the endonasal lip lift (or subnasal lip lift), which comes with benefits like less visible scarring, a more pronounced roundness, fullness, and definition to the upper lip, and a smaller chance of visible tension. This modified upper lip lift requires a small incision underneath the nose so that a small area of skin can be reattached further inside the nose to gently pull the upper lip upwards. Finally, the incisions are closed and made ready for recovery.
What To Expect During Your Lip Lift Recovery
You’ll receive instructions to follow during recovery from lip lift surgery, including specific steps for a diet that avoids excessive chewing, which can harm the lip lift incisions and cause worse results.
You can expect minimal discomfort the first night after surgery that can be managed with Tylenol. You’ll need to keep yourself elevated while sleeping in order to avoid excess swelling and bruising, and should use ice packs to manage discomfort. You can expect about one week of swelling, and it can take up to one month before your final results settle in.
After an endonasal lip lift, the result is a more pronounced, fuller look to the lips and a shortened distance between the upper lip and nose for a more balanced look to the profile. There should be no long-lasting lip lift scar due to the gentle, minimally invasive incisions that Dr. Sadati will make in the skin between the nose and upper lip.
