What is VASER Liposuction?

VASER High-Def liposuction (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) is a procedure that allows Dr. Tehrani to precisely target unwanted pockets of fat, remodel the remaining fat for more muscle definition, and tighten the skin to give you the toned and sculpted appearance you’re looking for.

The VASER procedure uses ultrasonic energy to break up the fat and liquefy it, making it much easier to remove with suction. At the same time, the energy heats up the skin, stimulating collagen production and tightening the skin, ensuring you don’t have to worry about sagging skin after the fat is removed.

Because the treatment is so precise, there is no damage to the surrounding tissue, nerves, and blood vessels, which means less downtime and bruising. This makes it a great alternative to traditional liposuction methods.

Am I A Candidate for VASER Liposuction?

Men interested in toning their bodies, removing fat, and tightening their skin and who haven’t responded to diet and exercise are great candidates for Hif-Def VASER liposuction. Some of the criteria we look for in ideal candidates include:

• Being in good overall health with an active lifestyle
• At or near your goal weight
• BMI less than 32
• Having an appropriate amount of fat for removal
• Good skin elasticity
• Realistic expectations of the results

Before the Procedure

Before your VASER lipo procedure, you’ll have a consultation with Dr. Tehrani. You’ll discuss your medical history and the results you’re looking for. From there, he’ll examine the treatment area and then build a customized treatment plan to ensure you receive the sculpted, masculine look you want.

Dr. Tehrani will also provide pre-op instructions. You’ll need to avoid certain medications like NSAIDs and blood thinners, limit alcohol use in the weeks before surgery, and make sure you have someone to drive you home from the procedure.

During the Procedure

To start your Hi-Def VASER liposuction procedure, we’ll administer local anesthesia to ensure your comfort. Then, Dr. Tehrani will inject tumescent fluid (a mixture of saline, epinephrine, and lidocaine and tranexamic acid commonly called TXA) into the treatment area. This will help remove fat and minimize the bruising you see after surgery.

He’ll then make stealth incisions in the treatment area and insert the VASER probes underneath the skin. The VASER probes deliver controlled ultrasonic energy. Once the energy and the tumescent fluid have broken up the fat, it will be suctioned out using a small tube called a cannula. This process will be repeated until the desired results are achieved. Once all the fat is removed, Dr. Tehrani will close your incisions, and you’ll be ready to start the recovery process.

The procedure takes two to three hours, depending on the number of areas treated.

Recovery & Results

To start your recovery, we’ll give you a compression garment you’ll want to wear for the first two weeks to ease swelling and bruising. Dr. Tehrani will also prescribe pain medication to help with any discomfort.

You will work closely with a post operative lymphatic drainage therapist the first couple of weeks to ensure your contour is maintained and that the fluid and swelling is reduced.

As you heal and recover, feel free to take short walks to help with circulation and healing. You will likely be able to return to work after a week but may require longer if you have a physically demanding job. Typically patients are back in the gym between week 2 and 3. 

In terms of results, you may notice some initial changes immediately. With the fat removed, you will likely see improvements, but the swelling and bruising will hide most of the results. Over the next few weeks and months, the swelling and bruising will diminish, and your skin will have time to build up collagen and tighten, and the results will become even more noticeable. You’ll see the sleeker, toned, and sculpted body you’ve always wanted.

The VASER liposuction results are permanent. The fat cells will not grow back in the treatment areas. That being said, sticking to a healthy lifestyle is important to maintain your results. Any fat cells surrounding the treatment area can still expand.
