The placement of the incision will depend on the technique that is being used. During the closed technique, the incision is made near the sides of the nostril. When the open technique is used, the incision is made in between the two nostrils. Finally, Dr. Kevin Sadati will place the nasal skin back over the structure of the nose, and the incision will be closed. Stints and tubes are used to provide the nose with additional support during the critical first days after the operation. Patients will have these support measures removed within a week of the surgery, and at that point they will begin to see the results of the operation.
