In the right hands, yes, and with very natural results, a facelift can follow failed neck liposuction and Kybella. Tanya flew from Sacramento to Newport Beach after years of dissatisfaction with her neck. She’d had Kybella injections and liposuction of her neck, hoping one of these would eliminate the fullness under her jaw. Neither worked.

Neither procedure was treating the problem in her neck. The fullness wasn’t in the fat just under her skin. Rather, it was in fat deeper than that, under her platysma muscle, and in her submandibular gland. Liposuction and Kybella can’t reach this fat or gland.

Over the years, as she got older (she’s 58), she noticed increasing laxity in her lower and mid face and at her lateral brow. She didn’t want a radical change. She wanted to look rested and refreshed. I performed a preservation deep plane facelift and neck lift, plus a brow lift. In this way, I corrected fullness in her neck, improved harmony in her face and brow, and restored some of the youthful contours of her face.
