“I feel amazing! I feel 40 years old, not 50. He is a master – just go with him and don’t think twice!”
Should I Get a Facelift at Age 50, or Continue with Fillers and Nonsurgical Treatments? Kenia’s Answer at 51
For years, laser and skincare treatments can be very helpful. But at some point, they aren’t enough. And more important than your age is knowing when that point comes, a question we address further in am I a good candidate for a facelift.
By age 51, Kenia had hit that point. Over the years she’d developed acne scarring on her face. And as deep tissues in her face and neck lost support, her acne scars appeared to worsen alongside it. This isn’t unusual in someone with scarred or textured skin.
She’d tried extensive skincare, in fact medical-grade skincare, and several treatments with CO2 laser to improve her skin. Her skin texture got better, but the laxity in her neck and jaw remained. She didn’t need just another laser treatment to lift her face. What she needed was correction of her deeper structure, followed by skin refinement.
Dr. Sadati combined a preservation deep plane face and neck lift, a brow lift, fat grafting and CO2 laser, all under twilight sedation to improve her facial features without changing who she was.
Within a year, her jaw was well-defined, her neck smooth and her skin fresh-looking across her entire face. None of this could have been achieved with fillers, thread lifts, laser or skincare alone. Often, for patients whose face has aged beyond what these can fix, the answer isn’t more skincare or injectables. It’s looking beyond the surface at the underlying structure, something fillers can’t fix.
