Procedure Description:

Is 60 Too Old for a Facelift? A 61-Year-Old’s Answer

Age was never the determining factor for this California patient — her facial anatomy and expectations were the deciding factors. At 61 years, she underwent comprehensive facial rejuvenation with a preservation deep plane face and neck lift, temporal brow lift, upper and lower blepharoplasty to eliminate a tired appearance to her eyes, restoration of volume with fat grafting, and refinement of skin texture with CO2 laser resurfacing. Dr. Sadati’s combined training in sculpting and over two decades of facial rejuvenation surgery provided excellent appreciation of facial harmony and dictated precisely which procedures were necessary for her face, rather than providing a basic procedure to improve the lower face alone.

With more than 5,000 facelifts performed, each treatment plan was individualized according to the patient’s age and expectations. One year later, this patient appeared substantially younger than 61 and had regained complete confidence in her appearance, with no evidence of surgical treatment. This represents an authentic response to the question of whether 60 is “too old” for facelift surgery: the appropriate selection and precise execution of procedures produced results at 61 that were equal to those achieved decades previously.

In the end, it was not the patient’s age that mattered most, but the extent of aging in her facial features and the specific treatments required to meet her expectations.
