How Long Does Tightness Last After a Facelift?

Since one of the sought-after effects of a facelift is a tighter, more taut appearance, feelings of physical tightness are a sign that your surgeon has done an effective job. Since no two people heal the same way, the length of time it takes for tightness to dissipate varies from patient to patient. While you are healing, the tightness will feel obvious but not look that way. Most swelling-related tightness disappears after 10-14 days but swelling in the surrounding tissue can make the tightness linger. Most patients experience this sensation, and it generally lasts from 6-8 weeks but can last longer.
