Procedure: Facelift and Neck Lift, Upper Eyelid Lift
Anesthesia: Local Anesthesia with Twilight Sedation
Age: 50+ Years Old
Post Op Timeline: 8 weeks Post Op
As one of many patients from the Long Beach, California area, this lovely woman came to Dr. Sadati’s Newport Beach office in the hopes of looking less tired and more refreshed. Her upper eye area was sagging, as was her jawline, but she was nervous about anesthesia and the side effects that come with it. Dr. Sadati carefully explained that she would only need local anesthesia and twilight sedation during the procedure. The medication would be similar to that used during colonoscopies, and there would be no nausea or other side effects.
During the neck lift procedure, Dr. Sadati removed some fatty tissue and skin from the upper portion of her neck and tightened the muscles and tendons underneath. This made her neck look slimmer and more taut. He made a small incision in the natural crease of her eyelid to remove tissue that was making her eyes look hooded and tired. To complete her transformation, he gave her a natural facelift that made her features look more prominent without appearing overdone. She returned for her 8-week post op appointment with a huge smile and nothing but praise, saying, “I’m overjoyed with the results. I ran into an old classmate recently, and she just kept complimenting me and telling me how young I looked. You’re simply the best facelift surgeon in Orange County.”
Your Surgery Questions Answered by Dr. Kevin Sadati
How Long Does Tightness Last After a Facelift?
Since one of the sought-after effects of a facelift is a tighter, more taut appearance, feelings of physical tightness are a sign that your surgeon has done an effective job. Since no two people heal the same way, the length of time it takes for tightness to dissipate varies from patient to patient. While you are healing, the tightness will feel obvious but not look that way. Most swelling-related tightness disappears after 10-14 days but swelling in the surrounding tissue can make the tightness linger. Most patients experience this sensation, and it generally lasts from 6-8 weeks but can last longer. If you feel that the tightness is excessive, please feel free to contact Dr. Sadati to discuss your situation personally.
