This lovely patient traveled from the San Diego area of Julian, California to meet with Dr. Sadati after learning that he had performed more than 3,500 face and neck lifts and had over 600 5-star reviews from satisfied patients. She wanted to turn back the clock now that she was in her 70s. During their consultation, Dr. Sadati explained that the vertical lines on her cheeks, as well as her sagging jowls, could be corrected with a natural facelift. She didnt want to look overdone but also wanted to eliminate the sagging in her neck and the heaviness in her upper eyelids.
After giving the patient local anesthesia and twilight sedation, Dr. Sadati removed the excess fat and skin from both her upper eyelids and neck then reinforced the tendons and surrounding muscles to restore her youthful appearance. During her facelift, he improved the contours of her face, which also improved the appearance of her cheeks, forehead, and jaw. When her after pictures were taken two months later, she said, Those pouches above my eyes are gone, and I can finally wear eye shadow again! I havent looked this rested in years.
Recovery times for surgical procedures vary from person to person. The more invasive the procedure, the longer the recovery may take. With that in mind, most patients feel comfortable returning to work within one to two weeks. If your job involves lifting or moving heavy items, you should allow at least an additional week. Most patients are able to return to everyday activities within seven to ten days, although bruising and swelling will still remain. After 10 days, you may be able to begin applying makeup again, but swelling can take a while to subside. Any post-operative pain should be gone after a day or so, but it is important to rest and allow your body to heal at its own pace. Complete recovery occurs over a series of months, not days.
