AcuTite is a safe and effective procedure for both young adults and older patients. Younger patients with early signs of aging who are not yet candidates for invasive treatments (e.g. blepharoplasty) can often benefit from AcuTite to rejuvenate the skin around their eyes. Older patients with fine wrinkles, loose skin and excess fat around the eyes who are seeking a minimally-invasive treatment only or are undergoing blepharoplasty are often excellent candidates for AcuTite. AcuTite can be safely performed on patients of all skin tones. Patients should be non-smokers, in good overall health, and have realistic expectations from the procedure.
AcuTite utilizes radiofrequency energy (an electrical current that delivers heat) to break down fat cells and tighten the skin. The temperature settings are controlled by the operator for predictable and effective treatments. First, a local anesthetic solution is first injected underneath the skin. Through a small (2 mm) skin incision, a probe is inserted under the skin while an external probe rests on the skin surface. Heat generated between the two probes melts fat below the skin and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. As collagen and elastin are formed over time, the skin will tighten and appear more youthful.
AcuTite can be performed in a surgical clinic or operating room under local anesthesia, with the patient fully awake and comfortable. AcuTite is commonly performed in conjunction with FaceTite, which treats areas with thicker skin such as the lower face and neck.
Many radiofrequency devices on the market deliver energy by unipolar current (1 electrode). These devices are either applied to the surface of the skin or use a single probe below the skin to deliver current (heat) to tissue. AcuTite operates by bipolar radiofrequency (2 electrodes). This means, the current is conducted between the internal probe underneath the skin and an external probe which rests on the surface of the skin. The advantage of bipolar radiofrequency is that the current (heat) can be delivered in a predictable, controlled manner between the 2 electrodes, without excess heat reaching deeper tissues which are not meant to be treated.
AcuTite is designed to address fine wrinkles, loose skin and excess fat around the eyes. As we age, the upper and lower eyelid skin becomes loose, contributing to an aged, tired appearance. AcuTite is often an excellent complement to blepharoplasty (upper or lower eyelid surgery).nded to wait at least two weeks after your J-Plasma treatment before applying makeup.
Generally, a single session of AcuTite is adequate to achieve the desired results. For most patients, the results of AcuTite last several years. Keep in mind, the face skin and soft tissues will continue to naturally age with time and some patients may benefit from a repeat procedure or require a blepharoplasty in the future.
Results from AcuTite can be noticeable directly after the procedure, following the ablation of fat below the skin. The results of collagen stimulation will slowly become apparent over time. Most patients are very satisfied with their appearance within a few months after their procedure.
AcuTite is a novel, minimally-invasive treatment designed to tighten and contour the soft tissue around the eyes and rejuvenate the skin without the need for longer surgical incisions or general anesthesia. AcuTite can be performed under local anesthesia only, with the patient awake and comfortable.
AcuTite is frequently combined with other non-invasive or minimally-invasive treatments, such as microneedling, combined radiofrequency-microneedling systems (e.g., Morpheus8) and blepharoplasty. Combining treatments has the benefit of targeting different tissue layers and cell types to maximize facial contouring.
You may wear makeup starting the day after your treatment, taking care to avoid applying makeup directly over the incision sites.
Most patients resume their usual activities within 48 hours of treatment and return to work within 2-3 days after treatment. The skin incisions are small and heal quickly, without noticeable scarring. Your skin texture may feel uneven for 2 to 3 weeks after the procedure as your skin contracts and heals.
