Is it normal to feel numb or have some lumps under the skin after a facelift?

All patients experience numbness after undergoing a facelift. This occurs because the skin is lifted away from the face during the surgery, and the nerves are unable to communicate properly. Numbness can take some time to go away as the nerves return to normal. Dr. Sadati always advises patients to expect numbness, but you should contact him if you’re concerned that the feeling hasn’t returned if you’re worried.

Small lumps under the skin are also normal and can be caused by swelling, sutures, or fluid collecting under the skin.
