What is Restylane® Refyne?
Restylane® Refyne is specifically formulated to address mild to moderate lines and wrinkles such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines. It was created to move effortlessly with the face and is extremely flexible, offering soft support.
Restylane® Refyne can address lines around the lips, which are frequently referred to as ‘smoker’s lines.’ Despite their name, these lines occur due to changes in the lower face. Therefore, even individuals who have never smoked can develop these lines as they age. The plump, full lips enjoyed during youth may also become a thing of the past. In addition, moderate to severe folds and wrinkles (i.e., nasolabial folds) become apparent as we age.
Although these changes may be difficult to contend with, the good news is that now all of these issues can be addressed with the revolutionary dermal filler Restylane® Refyne. In addition, this dermal filler can be used in the lower portion of the face to eliminate lines, providing patients in Orange County with a beautiful, natural-looking result.
Dermal filler treatments with Restylane® Refyne are performed in the office and can be completed quickly (usually taking no longer than an hour). Due to the Lidocaine and the topical numbing agents used, patients remain comfortable throughout the procedure.
The areas being treated determine the number of syringes required. To provide the patient with the results he or she desires, Restylane® Refyne is injected into the facial tissue. The depth of the injection (mid-to-deep) is determined by the areas being treated and the patient’s desired results.

Am I a Good Candidate for Restylane® Refyne?
Anyone at least 21 years of age who would like a younger, more refreshed appearance should consider scheduling an initial consultation with our office. However, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not undergo these treatments.
Your Results with Restylane® Refyne
For the majority of patients, there is no downtime following injections with Restylane® Refyne. However, patients should expect to experience some inflammation, redness, and/or bruising. These symptoms usually last for at least 1 day but could last up to 7 days after the procedure. The symptoms a patient experiences after his or her Restylane® Refyne treatment depend greatly on the number of injections received and the patient’s tendency to bruise.
Swelling and bruising can be reduced with the use of cold packs. Patients should apply cold packs to the areas treated for 15 minutes per hour (for several hours following the procedure). Keep in mind that ice should never be placed directly on the skin. Patients should not massage or squeeze the treated areas; doing so could change the results achieved. If the lips were treated, patients should use a couple of pillows to raise their head while sleeping. Elevating the head can help reduce inflammation of the lips. Patients who have received dermal fillers in their cheeks must sleep on their backs the night following their procedure.
