Our expert aestheticians perform this treatment with a state-of-the-art fractional C02 laser with a cooling system, which rejuvenates a person’s face by using laser technology in order to restore damaged skin. Short, pulsating beams of light are used on the targeted area, ultimately removing the skin until fresh, new skin is at the surface. Unlike other cosmetic procedures, laser resurfacing is particularly effective on some of the most sensitive areas of the face, such as the areas around the eyes. Laser resurfacing only treats areas of the face that require it, and skin that does not need treatment is left untouched.
This procedure is performed using twilight sedation and topical numbing cream. There is no pain during or after the procedure. It is important to remember that skin resurfacing techniques strip away the top layers of your skin in order to decrease the blemishes and spots that may appear during the natural course of
aging.
Good candidates for this procedure are in good health. The best candidates will also have dark spots of age spots on their face, fine lines, and wrinkles, sun damage, acne scarring, or hyperpigmentation. Our team will determine whether each individual patient is a qualified candidate at the initial consultation appointment.
To discern whether or not you may be a good candidate for a resurfacing technique, including microdermabrasion, your skin may present with one or more of the following conditions:

As this is a non-surgical procedure, the recovery is generally well tolerated by most patients. The largest inconvenience is the fact that there is some redness, swelling and irritation around the area where the treatment was performed. This will last anywhere from two hours to eight hours. Patients might experience scabbing on their face, which is essential to the healing process. Typically, our team recommends that patients use a moisturizer in the area where the treatment was performed in order to obtain the best results.
